Radio time!!

Ok, so last week an old friend from Athens e-mailed me and told me that he does a sports talkshow on the radio here in Kennesaw. He heard that I just transferred into KSU and was majoring in Sports Management with a focus in Sports Comm and was nice enough to ask me if I was interested in being on the show every now and then. I immediately said yes and jumped at the opportunity.

I've always been very interested in sports. Growing up I played tennis, softball, basketball, was on the track team, and took dance and gymnastics. My parents have been University of Georgia football season ticket holders since 1976 so that has been a major part of my life as well. Growing up and going to UGA football games almost every Saturday in the fall was so much fun to me. I even had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful Larry Munson after a game in middle school. After meeting and talking to him about his love for football and broadcasting I knew that was what I wanted to do.

Even though I know its really far fetched to want to be a side-line reporter for espn, its a dream that I'm willing to pursue and I think that this radio job would be a great place to start. I'm hoping to learn from my friend along with everyone else there and hopefully be able to use this experience later on in life...maybe even on the side lines one day! Hey, its alright to dream isn't it?

Bloggin for class

This is my first time blogging so you may have to be a little patient with me. I started my blog today for my COM 3330 class at KSU. I'm hoping to learn more about writing and reporting the news so that I can use these skills later on in life. I plan to work with sports broadcasting after graduation so surely I'll learn something in this class to take into the working world with me.

What do you plan to take with you from this class?
